November 2025 Mini-Challenge
It’s our FAVOURITE month at The 52 Book Club — NOVEMBER IS HERE! And while we patiently (or not so patiently) await the launch of next year’s reading challenge, we’ve got a new mini to keep you busy.
I’m new here! What are mini-challenges?
Mini-challenges are smaller month-long reading challenges, usually comprised of three prompts built around a specific theme. Mini-challenges are released sporadically throughout the year, and not every month has one. Match one book to each of the prompts and have fun reading!

How does this November mini-challenge work?
We spent the month of September voting on prompts for our 2026 challenge. We released four different prompts to vote on, and the winners will appear on our 2026 challenge. (You can see the winners here!) For this November challenge, we took the prompts that didn’t win and did a random draw to find our four November 2026 Mini-Challenge prompts. These prompts were a little less popular, but there are still some fantastic options to explore here, and we can’t wait to see which books you match to each of these.
SPECIAL NOTES: Because this mini-challenge has four prompts and is a little larger than usual, we’re only asking you to complete THREE out of the four November prompts. Choose whichever three you’d like and consider the fourth a bonus optional prompt if you’re feeling extra ambitious.
You can watch the random draw for our November prompts on YouTube here:

Prompt Walkthrough:
Need help with these November mini-challenge prompts? Let’s walk through them!
1) Related to the word “Perspicacious” — The definition of perspicacious is, “Keen, astute. Someone with the power to see through and understand what is puzzling or hidden. Quick in judging things accurately. An ability to understand things that are not obvious.”
For this prompt, choose a book that somehow relates to the word perspicacious. This may feature a character who has these qualities, a word in the title that relates to perspicacious (examples: keen, astute, puzzling, hidden), or a puzzling book that brings out your own perspicaciousness.
Goodreads List: Related to the word “Perspicacious”
2) In the 500s of the Dewey Decimal System — The Dewey Decimal System is a popular library classification system that organizes books by subject into ten main classes, using a numerical system. Each main category also contains further, more specific subdivisions. The 500s cover the natural sciences and mathematics, including astronomy, physics, chemistry, earth sciences and geology, fossils and prehistoric life, biology, botany, zoology, etc.
For this prompt, choose any book in the 500s of the Dewey Decimal System.
Goodreads List: In the 500s of the Dewey Decimal System
3) Set in an office — For this prompt, we’re looking for any book set in an office. This may be fully or partially set within an office setting. The definition of office may vary slightly for each of us.
Goodreads List: Set in an office
4) A series that’s not finished yet — We’ve unlocked the vault and chosen a favourite prompt from one of our past 52 Book Club challenges. “A series that’s not finished yet” first appeared on our Summer 2023 Challenge, and it’s back once more! For this prompt, choose any book from a series that’s not yet finished. This may be the first book in the series, the most recently released book, or any book in between.
Goodreads List: A series that’s not finished yet

Mini-challenge tips:
1) Do I have to complete this challenge in November?
Nope! Feel free to complete this mini-challenge whenever you like. Some members prefer to focus on finishing the main 2025 challenge first, and then go back to complete all the minis afterward. Others enjoy the added challenge of completing mini-challenges in the month they’re released. Do whatever works for you!
2) Is this a part of the main 52 books in 52 weeks challenge?
Yes and no. Mini-challenges are related to our 52 books in 52 weeks challenge but are also completely optional. Some members may decide to complete the full challenge and all the minis. Other members may choose to skip mini-challenges or to complete some of the minis but not all of them. Some challenge participants might only be joining in for the minis. It’s up to you how (or if) you’d like to participate.
3) Can I use the same books as my 52 book challenge?
It all depends on your personal reading goals! You can choose to read these books in addition to your regular 52 Book Club reads, or you can double up and combine them with prompts still left on your 2025 list. Your challenge, your rules!
