May 2025 Indulge Book Box from Lit Love Book Box
If you’ve followed along with The 52 Book Club for the past few years, you’ll know that I love book boxes. Book boxes are some of my favourite bookish things and are always at the top of my gift lists as the best subscriptions to give and receive. So, I’m really excited to share that for the next few months, I will be a rep for Lit Love, and I just got my first box — the May 2025 Indulge Box.

About the Lit Love Book Box:
Lit Love Book Box is a subscription-based book box out of BC, Canada. Each month, they offer a broad range of book options, in a variety of genres (including a surprise option!) Along with your book, the box includes snacks, bath & body products, home essentials and other bookish goodies. It’s a fun way to have a new book and a few treats delivered to your door each month!
While this was a gifted box, opinions expressed in this post are, as always, my own! Let’s take a look inside this May 2025 box:

Julie Chan is Dead by Liann Zhang
There were several amazing books to choose from for this month’s box (including a recent favourite of mine, The Amalfi Curse by Sarah Penner) but I decided on a thriller that I have been hearing lots of good things about — Julie Chan is Dead by Liann Zhang. Described as a “diabolical debut thriller,” this mystery was calling my name, and I can’t wait to dive into it.
You can read more about Julie Chan is Dead, here.
Lit Love Box Bookmark
Is a book box really a book box if it doesn’t come with a bookmark? This Lit Love matte bookmark is super cute and gives all the floral spring vibes. You can never have too many bookmarks!

Squish Unicorn Love Candies
The first thing I reach for in any book box is always the snack. These fruit-flavoured, unicorn gummies are from Squish (a brand I haven’t tried before) and they were delicious. The unicorn shape was a fun added bonus, and I had a difficult time taking a photo of this treat before it disappeared!
Macrame Wristlet
The next item in this box was a macrame wristlet, created by Chickadee Creations. The orange colour fit really well with the overall theme of the box, and I love that it’s a handmade item. And while I have no idea what I’ll use it for yet, it feels durable and well-made, and looks really cute.
Car Coasters
Car coasters aren’t something I’ve used before but these are currently nestled in my car cup holders and given my current life stage (mom with three busy littles), I think this is a good choice. The coasters are from Peak to Pine Designs and are in a pink daisy pattern. While I’m a little dubious as to how well they’ll hold up to spills over time, they’re a fun summer car accessory.

Soap Sponge
Up next is a citrus basil scented soap sponge from Studio Oh! It’s branded as both body soap and a bath sponge, and says it contains over forty washes. Wet the soap sponge and lather up! The soap smells light and fresh, and has a really nice scent. I also really like the packaging as it felt bright and continued with the floral, spring vibes of the box. My one critique is that the sponge felt a little rough for the first few uses, however, it’s easy to use, smells lovely, and doesn’t leave any soapy residue on my skin.
Bath Soak
Another bath product in this box is a bath soak from Midnight Paloma. I like that this is a local brand and that the product is handcrafted in small batches. The grapefruit and mandarin scent is strong but the citrus notes feel fresh, making for a relaxing scent in the tub.
Reading Fiction is My Addiction Glass
And finally, we’ve got a glass cup with a fun and colourful design proclaiming, “Reading Fiction is my Addiction.” It’s a cute product for summer and I appreciated that the glass was very thoroughly wrapped and boxed to arrive intact.

Final Thoughts:
This was a really cute box that gave off all the spring, floral vibes. I love book boxes because they provide an opportunity to try and test out products that I might not otherwise purchase, and I appreciate the inclusion of local, handmade items in this box.
This was a great box and I look forward to seeing what arrives next month!

I’ve always wanted to try one of the book boxes. I’ve seen so many short videos on Facebook and TikTok but I’ve not pulled the trigger on it yet. This one is super cute.
Oh my gosh…I would like to get a bookish box like that over here in Germany.
Love these. Wish we could order in Sweden.
