That’s right, it’s time for a March mini-challenge! And given that it’s March 17th, what better than a St. Patrick’s Day theme?

Since we’re mid-month, this challenge will consist of TWO bonus reads for our 52 Book Club members. You can read these in addition to your regular 52 reads OR you can combine them with books you’re already planning to read for our 2021 challenge.

The 52 Book Club’s annual challenge is made up of fifty-two fun and unique prompts. Every year, three of these categories are randomly drawn from suggestions made by our 52 Book Club Facebook group members. And one of the 2021 challenge‘s winning categories was “a cover with a woman who is facing away.”

This cover trend has been fairly popular over the past couple of years — particularly with historical fiction. Taking a quick browse around a library or bookstore will produce countless options for this category. But, if you need some inspiration, here are twenty-one covers to get you started!

We are so excited to take a closer look at our 2021 Reading Challenge! In this post, we’re going to examine each of the fifty-two prompts on the 2021 challenge. If you’re stuck on a prompt or have a specific question about it, this is the place to check first!

Before reading the 2021 guide:

  1. We recommend that you first check out our original 2021 challenge page. You can find a downloadable copy of the list there too!
  1. Don’t forget to stop by our rules and list of FAQs to get better acquainted with how this challenge works!
  1. Keep in mind that we always encourage participants to get creative with the prompts. You never have to take them exactly at face value. Think outside the box and have fun with it!

We’ll be adding to this list throughout the year as we see new and creative ideas pop up — so feel free to check back or add your own ideas in the comments.
