Vote for a 2027 Prompt!
Get ready to hit the polls! It’s time to vote on four new prompts for next year’s challenge!
Every September, The 52 Book Club casts our votes in weekly polls to determine four different prompts for the following year’s challenge. This year, we’re celebrating our TENTH ANNIVERSARY here at The 52 Book Club. As part of the celebrations, our 2027 challenge will include some throwbacks to our favourite prompts over the years. This September, we will be voting for four of these favourites!
How this works:
- Each Monday in September, a new poll will be released. Polls and results will be released on this page, so bookmark it and check back each week for updates.
- Cast your vote and pick the option you’d most like to see on next year’s challenge. Each week, vote in our Facebook group, Goodreads group, and on our Instagram page. (One vote per site, for a total of three votes each week.) Vote as strategically as you’d like — voting for the same option three times or voting for a different option on each.
- Once the poll closes, total votes will be tallied across all three platforms (Facebook, Goodreads, and Instagram.) Each weekly poll will be open from Monday until Sunday, closing at 9 p.m. PT. The TOP TWO picks for each week will be named finalists and entered into the final running for the 2027 challenge.
- The winning prompts will be randomly drawn from each of our two weekly finalists. Winning prompts will appear on our 2027 challenge.

WEEK ONE: Monday, September 7- Sunday, September 13
This week, we’re voting on a favourite prompt from our 2019 Challenge. While there were a ton of amazing choices that year, we’ve narrowed it down to fifteen prompts for you to choose from. Vote for your favourite from these fifteen! (Cast votes on Facebook, Instagram, and/or Goodreads. Polls close Sunday, September 13 at 9 pm PT.)

2. Has a strong female lead
3. A play
4. A memoir about someone you admire
5. Set in the Victorian Era
6. A graphic novel
7. Includes time travel
8. A self-published book
9. Name of a colour in the title

Once this poll closes, check back here for the week one results! Our top two, most popular prompts will be named finalists. The winning prompt will then be selected by random draw and announced in October.
