2025 Prompt Finalists
We’ve started voting on 2025 prompts and the results are trickling in!
Each week in September, we’re voting on a different prompt for 2025. Vote on Facebook, Instagram, Goodreads, or all three! At the end of the week, results are tallied across all socials and our top two picks will be named finalists for that week!
On October 5, weekly finalists will be placed in a random draw, and the winners will earn their spots on the 2025 challenge. The LIVE random draw will take place on Saturday, October 5th at 4pm PT (Pacific Time) on The 52 Book Club YouTube channel. We’ll be hanging out for an hour, picking winners, and having fun! Subscribe and mark your calendars!
Each week our finalists from the previous week will be announced on this page, so check back for results!
Week One Finalists:
Week one’s results are in! We’ve tallied the polls across Facebook, Instagram, and Goodreads for our week one prompt, “Related to the word…” and our two finalists are…
First place: PUZZLE
Second place: QUEEN
While PUZZLE was the very clear first-place winner this week, there was a close battle for second! QUEEN snuck into that second-place spot by just over twenty votes! Both of these words will go into our random draw in October, and one will be picked LIVE as prompt 48 on our 2025 challenge!
The remaining results in descending order were: Wanderlust (3rd), Apocalyptic (4th), Macabre (5th), Nefarious (6th), Kismet (7th), Opulence (8th), Dust (9th), and Intergalactic (10th).
Week Two Finalists:
The week two results for the prompt, “Set in…” a specific location are in!
First place: A CAPITAL CITY
Second place: A COUNTRY WITH AN ACTIVE VOLCANO
While “Set in a capital city” very easily grabbed that first-place spot, it was a close fight for second place between “Set in a country with an active volcano” and “Set in a country with green in their flag.” (When the Facebook poll closed, there was just one vote difference between 2nd and 3rd place! Which just goes to show that every vote counts!) After tallying results across all three socials, “A country with an active volcano” took second place, and we can’t wait to see which of these two finalists will end up on our 2025 challenge!
The remaining results in descending order were: A country with green in their flag (3rd), The southern hemisphere (4th), Country name is three syllables long (5th), Country touching the equator (6th), Country with population less than 20 million (7th), Northern hemisphere (8th), City population of 3 million+ (9th), Country bordering at least five other countries (10th.)

The week three vote was all about books set in a specific decade. Did you guess which ones would be most popular?
First place: SET IN THE 1980s
Second place: SET IN THE 1940s
The remaining results in descending order were: Set in 1900-1910 (3rd), Set in the 1960s (4th), Set in the 1990s (5th), Set in the 1970s (6th), Set in the 1950s (7th), Set in 1930s (8th), Set in the 1910s (9th), Set in 2000-2010 (10th).
